Jeff Nelson Named Chair Of The American-Lithuanian Business Council

WASHINGTON, DC – On April 7, 2017, the American-Lithuania Business Council announced the appointment of Jeff Nelson, Vice President at Strategic Staffing Solutions, as chair of the board of directors.

The American-Lithuanian Business Council is a Washington, DC based non-profit organization that promotes commercial relations between the United States and Lithuania. The mission of the Council is to enhance American-Lithuanian trade and investment, advance the American-Lithuanian bilateral relationship, and educate the public about its importance.

As the leading business association in the United States focused on Lithuania, the Council ensures that American executives and key Lithuania and US Government decision makers have a forum to advocate for further trade and investment opportunities in Lithuania and amicably resolve issues that might prevent future growth.  ALBC has been a leading proponent of reforms to labor laws, which were approved by the Lithuanian government this year that will encourage more job creation and investment by employers.

Nelson, who has served as honorary consul for Lithuania in Virginia since 2014, has a legacy of raising the profile of Lithuania globally and helping promote new foreign investment. In addition to co-leading numerous business delegations, Nelson worked in Lithuania from 2006 to 2008 and has managed start-up projects for several leading shared service centers there.  Strategic Staffing Solutions has hired more than 5,000 people in Lithuania to work in the country for its U.S. and U.K based clients.

S3 was among the first American companies to invest in rebuilding Lithuania’s democracy and economic climate after the fall of communism in 1999. The capital city, Vilnius, also serves as our base of international operations.  Additionally, S3 recently added Argentina to its’ international portfolio.

“It’s an honor to serve as chair of ALBC,” said Nelson. “We just completed our fifth, and largest, annual U.S. business delegation to Lithuania.  And next year, as Lithuania celebrates the 100th anniversary of its first independence, ALBC will play an even bigger role in broadening the connection between the U.S. and Lithuania.”

Nelson’s new role adds to Strategic Staffing Solutions portfolio of industry and international business association leadership positions, which includes the British Chamber of Commerce, Project Management Institute International, the Lithuanian Minister of Economy’s Investor’s Advisory Council, and Staffing Industry Analysts.

S3 Sourcing Team Celebrates Four Year Anniversary!

sourcing-graphic-example
Four years flies when your team is doing serious work! Since Cindy gave the go-ahead to put the team together on April 15, 2013, the 48 Sourcers S3 has had in our employ since that time have helped deliver 3,183 consultants & overhead staff members to external & internal customers.

Nearly 25% of our Sourcers (11 of the 48) have gone on to other roles within the company, & those 11 remain singularly focused on delivery, including our original “Fab 4″ pictured above with Ken Huxley (second from left), Bryan Barber (Team Southwest), David Flores (Team Swamp), Greg Williams (Account Manager for Team Southwest), and Marvin Daugherty (CST Operations Officer).

The team’s success is not only a reflection of the hard work of our Sourcers, both past & present, but a great tribute to Cindy’s on-going commitment in using the team to set the bar high, create jobs (especially for military veterans & veteran spouses), giving individuals an opportunity to improve their position in life, and making our communities a core part of our business.

Thank you for all the Green work and tremendous effort you have put in these past four years, Sourcers! The company would not be in the same excellent standing without you. Cheers to many more!

Celebrating New Orleans And The Men And Women In Blue At Mardi Gras

New Orleans is one of America’s greatest cities. We’ve been honored to serve consultants, customers and the community there for years.

To celebrate this, we threw the 5th Annual Strategic Staffing Solutions Muses Party.

We were so thankful to bring the community together during this festive holiday. The party and parade were both spectacular and went off without a hitch.

Most of all, we’re thankful for our men and women in blue in their tireless efforts to make this event safe and fun for all. Working with the New Orleans Police and Justice Foundation, we provided food and snacks to more than 1,300 New Orleans area law enforcement officers.

There would be no purple, green and gold without the blue! S3 loves NOLA and can’t wait to return next year. This is a great example of how we believe in profit with a purpose.

Below you’ll find some photos from the event. A la revoyure! (See you later in French).

1,300 New Orleans Area Law Enforcement Officers To Be Adopted By Strategic Staffing Solutions For Mardi Gras Parade

Nola PD Mardi Gras

One of America’s most celebrated events is Mardi Gras in New Orleans, Louisiana, and Strategic Staffing Solutions (S3) is stepping up to the plate to help.

As part of S3’s fifth anniversary of bringing customers and consultants together for the Krewe of Muses Parade, Strategic Staffing Solutions is participating in the Adopt-A-Cop program. Our support will provide 1,300 law enforcement officers (LEOs) from New Orleans and surrounding Louisiana sandwiches and other snacks to help keep them nourished during the parade.

“We love to give back to New Orleans in any way we can,” said Ariane Brennan, New Orleans Branch Manager. “Our city is special and we value the community and our traditions.”

The parade, from roll call to roll call, is at least a 10-hour shift.

“Enjoying Mardi Gras is a special tradition in New Orleans that would not be made possible without our Krewe in Blue, who work around the clock to make it happen for everyone in the city. On behalf of all our officers, we extend a big thanks to S3 for helping to provide our men and women with much needed meals and snacks during the long days and nights of Carnival. After all, there would be no purple, green and gold without the blue!” said Melanie Talia, President and CEO of the New Orleans Police and Justice Foundation.

New Orleans isn’t the first city to have police activities and outreach supported by Strategic Staffing Solutions. The company, an international, woman-owned, $321 million IT and business services corporation based in Detroit, has a track record of ongoing commitment to police and first responders.

In Detroit, S3 financially supports the care and feeding of horses of the Detroit Police Department’s Mounted Unit, and has provided new, lighter and more effective bullet resistant vests for the dogs of the K9 unit there.

“We have the utmost respect for those who protect and serve our cities,” said Cynthia Pasky, CEO and Founder of Strategic Staffing Solutions. “It’s the little things that can make a really big impact. We commend the work of our police departments and are proud to step up and support.”

Strategic Staffing Solutions Achieves Military Spouse Friendly Status

mfse-1200x313

DETROIT  (JANUARY 16, 2017) — Strategic Staffing Solutions (S3), an international, woman-owned, $321 million IT and business services corporation based in Detroit, announced today that it has earned the 2017 Military Spouse Friendly Employer designation by Victory Media, publisher of G.I. Jobs, STEM Jobs, and Military Spouse.

First published in 2003, Military Spouse Friendly Employers is the most comprehensive, powerful resource for veterans and their families today. Each year, the list of Military Spouse Friendly Employers is provided to service members and their families, helping them discover the best post-military career opportunities available.

Strategic Staffing Solutions was also named a Military Friendly Employer for 2017, for the third year running.

“Strategic Staffing Solutions is committed to hiring military and military spouse talent, knowing first-hand that recruiting veterans and military spouses is not only the right thing to do for veterans and their families who have served our country, but it’s also the right thing to do for business,” said Founder and CEO Cynthia Pasky. “We know that military veterans and their spouses are among the best and brightest thinkers; they are quick learners, adapt easily, build solid relationships, and have strong ethics.”

Supporting veterans and their spouse’s ties into Strategic Staffing Solutions’ four core pillars of:

  • Setting the bar high for what a company should do
  • Creating jobs
  • Offering people an opportunity to succeed and change their station in life
  • Making community investment and corporate citizenship core parts of our business

“Companies that have earned the 2017 Military Friendly Employer designation have exceptionally strong hiring programs and meaningful jobs for transitioning service members, veterans and spouses,” said Daniel Nichols, a Navy Reserve veteran and Chief Product Officer at Victory Media. “Our Military Friendly Employers have moved beyond answering ‘why hire military?’ They are truly aligning their jobs and recruiting efforts with Military Friendly Schools to translate military competencies into civilian careers.”

Strategic Staffing Solutions will be showcased along with other 2017 Military Spouse Friendly Employers in the January 2017 issue of Military Spouse Magazine, and on MilitaryFriendly.com.

Military Spouse Friendly Employer Designation Methodology

Strategic Staffing Solutions was evaluated using both public data sources and responses from Victory Media’s proprietary survey. More than 200 companies participated in 2017 Military Spouse Friendly Companies survey. Ratings methodology, criteria, and weightings were determined by Victory Media with input from the Military Spouse Friendly Advisory Council of independent leaders in the higher education and military recruitment community. Final ratings were determined by combining an organization’s survey score with an assessment of the organization’s ability to meet thresholds for Applicant, New Hire Retention, Employee Turnover, and Promotion & Advancement of veterans and military employees.

Chevrolet Detroit Belle Isle Grand Prix Partner Strategic Staffing Solutions To Sponsor SST Truck, Local Driver in 2017

bambach-pasky-sst-trucks

DETROIT, Mich. (December 14, 2016) – One of the Chevrolet Detroit Belle Isle Grand Prix’s key partners will expand its presence around the event in 2017 as Strategic Staffing Solutions (S3) has announced that it will sponsor the “Green Hiring Machine” that will compete in the Stadium Super Truck (SST) Series races at the Grand Prix with a talented and accomplished local driver.

Strategic Staffing Solutions is literally making a jump in its activation to a strong on-track presence at next year’s Grand Prix. S3 will sponsor the No. 3 truck that will compete in the popular SPEED Energy Stadium SUPER Truck Series presented by TRAXXAS races scheduled to take place at next year’s Chevrolet Detroit Belle Isle Grand Prix, June 2-4, 2017.

With its signature S3 green design, the truck will compete in both SST races at the Grand Prix as the “Green Hiring Machine.” The truck is bound to be a fan favorite when it jumps over ramps and launches as high as 20 feet in the air around the 2.3-mile Belle Isle street circuit.

“S3 is proud to have supported the Detroit Belle Isle Grand Prix since 2008 and we are excited to bring the Green Hiring Machine to the race to represent our global family of companies and to have built a relationship between the Grand Prix and the Michigan Humane Society,” S3 CEO Cindy Pasky said.

Experienced local driver Aaron Bambach of Rochester Hills, Mich., will drive the S3 Green Hiring Machine truck at his hometown event. With 24 wins and 36 podium finishes over the last 20 years of competing in professional motorsports, Bambach also knows the Belle Isle track well. He’s driven in the SST races at Detroit in each of the last three seasons, earning six top-five finishes at the Grand Prix over that time, including strong third- and fourth-place results in 2016.

“I’ve always loved racing at Belle Isle and have had a blast in the Stadium Super Trucks on the island the last three years,” said Bambach, who also serves as Test Track Manager at the new M1 Concourse Facility in Pontiac, Mich. “It will be an honor to drive the new Green Hiring Machine truck for Strategic Staffing Solutions at the 2017 Grand Prix in Detroit. S3 has such a positive presence in the community and really does a lot to support this event so I’m very excited for the opportunity to represent them in our hometown race.”

This partnership will also bring together S3’s love of animals and the Grand Prix for the first time ever, as Bambach will partner with one of S3’s largest charitable causes – the Michigan Humane Society (MHS). A pet lover himself, Bambach will help to promote MHS initiatives in the coming months as the driver of the S3 truck at the Grand Prix.

“In addition to his great talent as a racer, Aaron’s love for animals mirrors ours at S3,” Pasky said. “We’re delighted to partner with him on something so special.”

To learn more about S3, visit www.strategicstaff.com and for more information on the SST series, log on to www.stadiumsupertrucks.com. Tickets are currently on sale for the 2017 Chevrolet Detroit Belle Isle Grand Prix. Complimentary round-trip shuttle service to Belle Isle Park is included with every ticket.
