Application Support Engineer – OT/PCN

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Application Support Engineer to support the deployment, maintenance, troubleshooting, and lifecycle management of applications and infrastructure within Operational Technology (OT) and Process Control Network (PCN) environments.

This role will support server-based applications across on-premises and Azure environments while ensuring systems meet cybersecurity, compliance, asset management, software licensing, monitoring, and patch management requirements.

The ideal candidate will have strong Windows Server and application support experience, with additional experience supporting applications and infrastructure within secure industrial or OT environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deploy, maintain, troubleshoot, and lifecycle server-based applications within OT/PCN and business network environments.

  • Install, configure, troubleshoot, and support Microsoft Windows Server environments.

  • Support on-premises and Microsoft Azure hosted applications and infrastructure.

  • Participate in application and infrastructure deployment, upgrade, migration, and lifecycle projects.

  • Provide design, testing, implementation, and production support for application platforms.

  • Perform operating system and application patching and ongoing system maintenance.

  • Maintain system and application documentation, including infrastructure configurations and support procedures.

  • Support asset inventory, system monitoring, and software license management.

  • Ensure compliance with cybersecurity standards, information management requirements, and risk controls.

  • Troubleshoot complex application and infrastructure issues and coordinate resolution across technical teams.

  • Identify opportunities to improve system reliability, monitoring, maintenance, and support processes.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience supporting and troubleshooting server-based applications in on-premises and/or Azure environments.

  • Hands-on experience deploying, troubleshooting, and supporting Microsoft Windows Server.

  • Experience supporting applications or infrastructure within OT, industrial, PCN, or highly secured network environments.

  • Experience participating in application platform deployments, upgrades, migrations, or lifecycle projects.

  • Strong analytical and technical troubleshooting skills.

  • Ability to identify, communicate, and resolve complex technical issues.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Experience documenting systems, infrastructure, configurations, and technical procedures.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Understanding of OT security concepts and architectures, including:

    • Purdue Model

    • Air-gapped networks

    • Zero Trust

  • Experience with Microsoft Azure IaaS and SaaS.

  • Experience developing or maintaining PowerShell scripts for system maintenance, administration, or monitoring.

  • Experience with VMware ESXi and vCenter; VxRail experience is a plus.

  • Experience deploying and supporting Linux servers, including RHEL, CentOS, or similar distributions.

  • Experience with vulnerability management, endpoint management, or cybersecurity tools such as Tenable Nessus, Tanium, or equivalent.

  • Experience supporting cybersecurity compliance, information management, patching, vulnerability remediation, and risk controls.

  • Familiarity with Agile/SAFe methodologies and Microsoft Azure DevOps (ADO).

  • Associate degree or higher in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.

  • Microsoft certifications related to Windows Server, Azure, or related technologies.

Additional Requirements

  • Ability to quickly learn new technologies, platforms, and application environments.

  • Ability to work effectively within highly controlled and security-focused OT environments.

  • TWIC card required for facility access.

  • Must successfully complete applicable onboarding requirements, including background check, drug screening, and education verification.
