Software Engineer

Work Allocation Responsibilities

• Deliver complex software features and components with high quality and minimal supervision.
• Allocate effort across development, bug fixing, refactoring, and technical improvements.
• Take ownership of assigned technical tasks from design through implementation and support.
• Balance feature delivery with technical debt reduction and code quality improvements.
• Contribute to sprint planning by estimating, sizing, and committing to work items.
• Prioritize work to meet sprint goals, release timelines, and production stability.
• Support production issues and participate in root cause analysis when required.
• Leverage and advocate within SCRUM development team use of AI advances such as Github Copilot to accelerate delivery of value to the business.

Required Technical Skills

Mandatory Technical Skills

• Strong proficiency in at least two programming languages, with C# mandatory.
• Solid experience with JavaScript.
• Strong understanding of data concepts, including DML and DDL, and relational database design. Hands-on experience with relational databases is required.
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (Azure preferred), including application development, deployment, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience building and consuming APIs (REST).
• Solid understanding of software design principles, including clean code, refactoring, and debugging.
• Ability to participate in functional and technical design, including the creation and maintenance of architecture and system diagrams for technical documentation.
• Awareness of security best practices in software development.

It's a plus:

• Experience with Python or Node.js
• Experience with frontend frameworks (Angular, React) is a plus.
• Experience with NoSQL databases.
• Experience with event‑driven and/or cloud‑native architectures.
• Experience with automated testing (unit and integration).
• Familiarity with Power BI (data modeling, reports) and/or Power Automate.
• Basic knowledge of CSS.

• Business domain understanding: Working knowledge of the business domain supported by the application, including key processes and workflows.
• Application lifecycle awareness: Understanding of how software is designed, built, deployed, supported, and operated in an enterprise environment.
• Product and system context: Familiarity with the existing application landscape, integrations, and dependencies within the domain.
• Operational impact: Awareness of how technical changes impact end users, business operations, and support teams.
• Business requirements interpretation: Ability to understand functional requirements and translate them into technical work.
• Compliance and standards awareness: Basic understanding of enterprise policies, standards, and governance relevant to the domain.
• Agile delivery context: Understanding of Agile/Scrum ways of working and how business priorities drive delivery.
