Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Ab Initio Developer to join our data analytics team and play a critical role in delivering high-quality data integration solutions that drive business impact. The ideal candidate will have deep technical expertise in Ab Initio development and a strong understanding of ETL best practices, data transformation, and data warehousing strategies.

As a core member of the project team, you’ll be responsible for end-to-end solution design and development, collaborating closely with analysts, front-end teams, and stakeholders to ensure business goals are translated into effective data-driven outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the design and development of ETL processes using Ab Initio to support data integration, transformation, and loading into large-scale data marts

• Provide scoping, estimating, planning, and full lifecycle development services for analytics and data platform projects

• Develop technical design documents (HLD, LLD, and mapping specifications) and translate requirements into scalable Ab Initio solutions

• Build dashboards, data pipelines, and batch processes to support business intelligence and reporting

• Create generic Ab Initio code frameworks to manage a growing variety of incoming source data files

• Work closely with front-end reporting teams and business analysts to align data capabilities with display and reporting needs

• Maintain and enhance UNIX shell scripts and SQL/PL-SQL code to support data pipelines and workflows

• Perform unit testing, quality analysis, defect tracking, and production support

• Collaborate in Agile/Scrum environments, ensuring timely delivery and resolution of development issues

• Communicate technical options to stakeholders and contribute to architecture decisions

• Stay up to date with industry trends, tools, and best practices in ETL, data warehousing, and data analytics

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Hands-on experience with Ab Initio (minimum 3–5 years) including strong command of components like Rollup, Join, Partition, Gather, Merge, Lookup, etc.

• Proven background in ETL design and development, including data modeling and transformation

• Strong knowledge of SQL, Oracle, and relational database structures; experience in performance tuning and stored procedures

• Proficiency in UNIX shell scripting and SQL/PL-SQL

• Experience working in Agile/Scrum methodologies

• Familiarity with data visualization/reporting needs and collaboration with front-end teams

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with other ETL tools such as Informatica, Datastage, or Pentaho

• Exposure to cloud-based data platforms or data lake architectures

• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field
