Job Title: Buyer/Purchasing Agent: Intermediate
Location: San Antonio, TX 78288
Work Schedule: Onsite
Contract Length: 14 Months

Position Summary

The Buyer/Purchasing Agent will support procurement activities by understanding and documenting business requirements, identifying and evaluating potential suppliers, negotiating pricing and contract terms, and formalizing agreements in accordance with company policies.

This position will support the Labor Portfolio, including Consulting, Staff Augmentation, Third Party Call Center, and Managed Services/Business Process Outsourcing contracts and supplier relationship management.

Required Qualifications

• 4 years of experience in procurement strategy, including planning, sourcing, solutioning, and supplier relationship management
• 2 years of experience negotiating and authoring contracts, terms and conditions, and pricing
• Solid written, verbal, and presentation communication skills
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Proficient experience with contracting and analytical tools, including Microsoft Office products

Preferred Qualifications

• Military affiliation preferred

Responsibilities

• Conduct all phases in the development of moderately complex acquisitions of third-party and affiliate solutions
• Consult on statements of work, create requests for proposals, identify qualified suppliers, evaluate proposals, and conduct negotiations
• Design and execute moderately complex sourcing plans and solutions aligned with business strategy
• Interpret provisions and specific terms of low to complex-risk contracts
• Collaborate with Legal and other subject matter experts to interpret contracts, ensure accuracy, and resolve escalated issues
• Coordinate with key stakeholders to gather business requirements and specifications for third-party solutions
• Provide client consultation and assist in developing contract specifications to achieve savings, quality, and risk/cost-avoidance targets
• Validate contracts against established controls to support regulatory compliance
• Engage with internal stakeholders and suppliers to provide compliant and consistent procurement experiences
• Evaluate commercial models and develop negotiated alternatives for medium to complex contract actions
• Negotiate and author low to moderately complex agreements
• Develop routine sourcing strategies using procurement strategy and planning experience
• Perform contract redlining and develop cost analyses, charts, and supporting documentation
• Consult on Labor Portfolio sourcing solutions, negotiate Labor agreements, and manage Labor supplier relationships
• Support sourcing and profitability-improvement initiatives involving global service providers
• Support compliant sourcing and contract execution throughout the procurement and third-party risk-management lifecycle
• Identify, measure, monitor, and control risks associated with business activities in accordance with applicable risk and compliance policies and procedures
