Materials Management Advisor – Material Coordination

Rate: $75–$80 per hour
Contract Length: 6 Months

Position Overview

The Materials Management Advisor – Material Coordination is responsible for establishing systematic material planning and coordination processes in alignment with Materials Management standards and common processes.

This role works closely with operational stakeholders to capture and consolidate material demand, coordinate supply activities with Procurement and Materials Management teams, and ensure materials are delivered accurately and on time to meet business requirements.

The position has a regional/site-level scope and provides strategic direction, process leadership, and continuous improvement across material demand planning and coordination activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with operating functions and business entities to capture material demand and coordinate the supply of materials with Procurement and Materials Management teams.

  • Apply demand planning and coordination tools and techniques to support and improve demand planning and scheduling processes.

  • Identify, communicate, and prioritize risk mitigation activities related to material demand planning and coordination.

  • Manage Materials Management service provider performance in accordance with agreed scopes of service.

  • Develop performance measures and monitor annual performance and resource plans for the team.

  • Ensure the resources, tools, systems, and other enablers required to execute the strategy are available.

  • Support the identification and management of excess and surplus inventory.

  • Provide strategic direction to the team and align activities with Procurement and stakeholder priorities.

  • Empower team members to develop plans and execute material coordination activities effectively.

  • Understand and comply with material demand planning and coordination requirements.

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance overall supply chain performance.

  • Actively participate in the Material Coordination discipline network.

  • Drive process and data standards in close alignment with Process and Systems guidance.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, or another relevant technical discipline.

  • Knowledge of Materials Management processes and systems.

  • Hands-on experience working with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems and reporting tools.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Ability to work effectively within a functional matrix organization.

  • Demonstrated ability to influence leadership and operational stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong commercial skills with the ability to make effective, economically sound decisions in the best interest of the organization.

  • Understanding of equipment and materials used within the energy industry.

  • Knowledge of statistical analysis, inventory modeling techniques, or inventory accounting.

  • Field experience supporting or working in inventory control, warehouse operations, and/or inbound logistics.

  • Experience within the oil and gas industry or another complex industrial environment.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is a Materials Management or Supply Chain professional with strong material planning and coordination experience, solid ERP and reporting knowledge, and the ability to work across Procurement, Operations, and Materials Management teams.

Experience supporting inventory, warehouse, logistics, or materials activities within the energy or oil and gas sector is highly desirable.
