Job Title: Senior Account Executive
Location: Remote – (Eastern Time Zone Hours)
Duration: 15 months + Potential for Extension and/or Conversion to FTE
Pay Rate: $25 - $32/HR (W2 Only)
Job/Role Description:
- Manage a portfolio of financial institution and payment-processing clients participating in a major card and debit network.
- Support the onboarding of credit, prepaid, and debit card issuers, issuer processors, and clients connecting to a PIN debit gateway.
- Coordinate the onboarding and certification of new card programs launched by existing issuer clients.
- Provide clients with guidance regarding technical specifications, program documents, network rules, and operational requirements.
- Manage client testing and certification activities for new programs, integrations, and network releases.
- Coordinate mandatory biannual release certification activities occurring in April and October.
- Ensure assigned issuers and processors complete required development, testing, and certification activities within established deadlines.
- Review technical specifications and structured data requirements, including flat-file formats, batch-processing requirements, field positioning, and header and trailer records.
- Assist clients with understanding APIs, payment-processing connectivity, data-transmission requirements, and system integrations.
- Review client data and program documentation to identify potential compliance gaps.
- Work directly with clients to resolve noncompliance with published network and program requirements.
- Respond to client questions involving reports, pricing, fees, technical specifications, program rules, and other operational requirements.
- Partner with internal sales, relationship management, technical, and operational teams to onboard and support clients.
- Maintain accurate client and program information within internal systems and account-management applications.
- Support the development, implementation, and maintenance of team workflows in Smartsheet.
- Communicate with clients primarily through email and participate in video meetings as needed.
- Support ad hoc client and operational projects throughout the year.
- Participate in occasional after-hours calls when urgent client production issues occur.
Required Qualifications
- Experience in account management, client services, client onboarding, implementation, payment operations, or technical client support.
- Experience working within banking, financial services, payments, card networks, merchant services, financial technology, or a related industry.
- Ability to manage a portfolio of multiple external clients, projects, or implementations simultaneously.
- Experience reading and interpreting technical specifications, program documentation, contracts, or detailed operational requirements.
- Understanding of payment-processing systems, card programs, issuer operations, payment gateways, or transaction processing.
- Familiarity with system connectivity, APIs, structured data, flat files, or batch-file processing.
- Ability to explain technical and operational requirements clearly to nontechnical and technical stakeholders.
- Experience coordinating client testing, system certification, implementations, or release-management activities.
- Ability to identify compliance or program-requirement gaps and work with clients to resolve them.
- Strong written communication skills, with the ability to manage a high volume of client communication through email.
- Strong client-service, relationship-management, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong organizational skills and keen attention to detail.
- Ability to learn and retain complex technical, operational, and program requirements.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with sales, relationship management, technical, and operational teams.
- Ability to work independently in a fully remote and highly collaborative environment.
- Ability to work Eastern Time Zone hours.
- Must be eligible for conversion to permanent employment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting card issuers, issuer processors, payment networks, debit networks, or payment gateways.
- Experience with card-program onboarding, network certification, or biannual payment-network releases.
- Experience reviewing client data to identify compliance or operational issues.
- Advanced Smartsheet application development, workflow creation, or support experience.
- Familiarity with Google Workspace, Salesforce, Tableau, Snowflake, SQL, or similar reporting and client-management tools.
- Experience supporting financial-services clients in a risk, compliance, implementation, or operational capacity.
