Meet Mary Messana: Vice President, Communications & Community

Wearer of Many Hats, Community Connection Maker

Mary Messana comes to Strategic Staffing Solutions (S³) by way of a career in journalism, working for newspapers and magazines in Maine, North Carolina and Michigan.

In her role as Vice President of Communications and Community for the $350+ million IT staffing and solutions corporation, Mary wears quite a few hats and always figures out a way to provide quality support to S³’s many constituents. Her consistent communication and outreach helps to keep all stakeholders on the same page, no small feat given all of the business and community organizations that S³ is involved with.

Mary located to Detroit with her husband in 2008. She joined the S³ family in 2015 as a communications specialist and quickly moved into a business development role and built a strong understanding of the staff industry.

She was promoted to Director of Communications and Community in 2018, overseeing business development efforts, internal and external communications, social media efforts and branding, and the company’s $2 million community budget.

In her role as S³’s Vice President of Corporate Communications and Community, Mary leads the branding, marketing, communications, business development efforts, and a $2-million-dollar community investments budget through efforts that align with the Detroit-based global staffing firms’ four giving areas: community and economic development, animal welfare, public safety and the arts.
With community investment at the core of S³’s business, Mary is at the forefront of advancing the firms’ commitment to serving the communities where we live and work, while championing the many causes that help promote and move Detroit forward towards a promising future.
