Get up, suit up, and show up. That’s how Denice Olson was raised, in a hard-working, blue-collar household. Denice believes in being early, being prepared and that being green is part of the S3 way. She believes in getting work done, and having fun while doing it. She transfers that work ethic and no small helping of energy to her work at S3, focusing on customers and how to continually surpass their expectations.
Building respect through human interactions like one-on-one meetings, phone calls, hand-written thank you notes, all comes naturally to Denice. That’s how she chooses to operate.
As part of S3’s executive management team, Denice oversees the company’s talent acquisition and military veteran hiring efforts across all locations. She also oversees our Detroit market, supporting delivery and customer operations. She touches all aspects of S3‘s business – from sales, to operations, to networking. In fact, the question isn’t what Denice does, it’s what doesn’t she do? She joined S3 in 2003 as market manager of the Chicago office and grew it from 10 IT consultants to 140 in four short years.
Denice understands the staffing industry inside, outside and sideways, and knows what’s expected of every position at S3. She identifies the right talent to serve as sales people, recruiters and mangers – all of whom support S3’s customers.
When she’s not helping to grow S3’s super team, Denice also supports national sales development, building strong relationships with customers, and expanding national accounts across many markets. She is involved with professional organizations such as Staffing Industry Analysts as well as TechServe Alliance, ensuring that S3 remains a leader in its industry.
Denice is S3’s WBENC ambassador, serving as the driving force behind S3’s robust diversity program. She is the smiling face greeting other suppliers and customers at WBENC conferences and is always on the look-out for emerging and growing women-owned vendors and suppliers for S3 to partner with and to mentor.
This variety feeds her personality and puts her strengths into practice. At heart, she is a doer who manages people and projects with clear expectations, prompt responses, and a sincere willingness to help.
In her hometown of Chicago, Denice focuses on family. She enjoys time with her husband, David Martin, her son Spencer, and daughter Kelly, who has two children, Colin and Taylor. As one of 35 cousins, she is rarely without a full roster of family events and outings. She especially enjoys sporting events, like Bears football or Blackhawks ice hockey, often followed by the quintessential Chicago favorites, beer and pizza.
